  1. right…i have a question – how was your first race 10k Race for life 52.30 and then then your dunwich park 52.44 (pb)? one these is not your personal best. love you. x

    • Good question. As I mention in a post about the Race For Life series (https://redheadontherun.wordpress.com/2012/07/29/my-mam-the-v50/) these races are not officially measured or timed. I prefer to only count official races as PBs, so I wouldn’t include runs on my own measured using GPS either.

What counts as a PB is varies from person to person and reflects your own personal goals as well as your acheivements – that’s why they’re personal bests.

If you ever start using the Power of 10 rankings (www.powerof10.info) you’ll notice that not all of your PBs are ‘official’ PBs. That’s because terrain can effect the course accuracy too (see http://www.thepowerof10.info/content/itemdisplay.aspx?itemid=8 for more detail).

But thanks for asking. Once I go under 50 minutes (dream…) neither of these times will matter anyway!
